CBD and sleep
Like many adults and even adolescents, a goodnights rest is a commodity that few can afford. You find yourself tossing and turning all night then before you know it, 7 a.m. hits and you need to start your groggy day only to repeat the same cycle the following night. I know this first hand as I also suffer from sleeplessness and was rarely getting a full 8 hours. That was until I started taking a dose of CBD about 30 minutes before bed. I found myself relaxing, falling asleep and more importantly staying asleep. On top of that my morning anxiety was no longer present. Which was an added bonus I was not expecting.
Why and how is this possible?
The endocannabinoid in your body is a network of cannabinoid receptors through the brain and central nervous system. Researcher has suggested that your body’s endocannabinoid system plays a role in certain body functions including sleep and your circadian rhythms. Although more research needs to be performed, there have been studies that support this theory that CBD can help with sleeplessness. One in particular is a study published in the journal, Medicines, studied the sleep patterns of 409 people that also experienced issues with sleep. Before the study was done the participants rated their sleeplessness on a scale from 1 to 10. The average was 6.5 out of the whole group. After the 2 year study ended, the average rate of sleepiness fell to 2.2.
Research and experience
This study is just one of many showing that there is evidence that CBD can help with sleeplessness. Of course as mentioned more research needs to be done, but based on personal experience and hearing the stories of others, the effectiveness of CBD and sleep holds true for us.
